State Rep. Kyra Bolden is serving her first term representing Michigan’s 35th House District, which comprises Southfield, Lathrup Village, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms and Franklin. Bolden also serves as Assistant Leader for the House Democrats.

A graduate of Southfield Public Schools, Bolden received her bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University and went on to attend the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Bolden is a civil litigation attorney, specializing in no-fault auto insurance law. She is also an active member of her community, serving as a member of the National Congress of Black Women-Oakland County, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and as a commissioner of the Total Living Commission for the city of Southfield.

Bolden is committed to serving the people of the 35th House District in Lansing by creating opportunities for better-paying jobs, repairing Michigan’s roads, prioritizing education and reducing auto no-fault costs without weakening the world-class coverage for Michigan drivers.
